We’re located on the Pawtuxet River in Cranston, R.I . We started making carved wood signs in 1972 in Boston. The carvers logo, shown here, was carved in that original shop, just around the corner from Fenway Park on Brookline Avenue. We moved to Uxbridge, MA in 1976 and have hundreds of carved wood signs in the Blackstone Valley area. We’ve been recognized by the Sign of the Times magazine in their annual sign design contest and published in the books “Successful Sign Design” published in 1989 and “Sign Design Gallery” published in 1994 by Rockport Publishers.Forest Properties Management and Dimeo Properties are but a few of our satisfied customers. Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI, is home to a number of our wooden signs.
Most of the signs shown throughout this site have been in place for some time, and a number of the photos taken after the sign had been up for years. You can expect a long life from a sign made by Uxbridge Carvers. We carve all our wood signs in S.A. mahogany for its dimensional stability and it holds paint exceptionally well.
